At SpotLight, our proudest achievement isn’t just our technology or projects — it’s seeing our SpotLighters grow into confident professionals ready to share their work with the world.
And this October, Pauline did just that.
She presented our joint paper with Whitecap Resources, “The value of Spot Seismic: 4 years of monitoring on the Weyburn site”, at the EAGE CCUS Conference in Toronto. Her first technical presentation marked a major milestone both for her and for SpotLight.
The study showcases the robustness of Spot Seismic for detecting CO₂, with three campaigns conducted between 2022 and 2024. It also includes a comparison with a full 4D seismic survey conducted in 2024, confirming the reliability and complementarity of both technologies.
Spot Seismic provides frequent, localized insights into fluid dynamics, while 4D seismic offers a broader spatial view every four years. Together, they enable a cost-effective and efficient monitoring strategy for CO₂ injection and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR).
This publication validates nine years of hard work at SpotLight and highlights the power of frequent, focused monitoring to build trust in CCS.
